A lot of water in Hungary - level 2

A lot of water in Hungary - level 2

14-06-2013 06:00

Villages in Hungary were evacuated because of floods. The flood in Budapest is the worst in ten years. Some of the underground stations were closed. The government said that there is a state of emergency.

The weather forecast says that the water will rise up to 8.86 metres high. It will beat the record from 2006. People were used their boats for transportation.

The floods are not only in Hungary. They are everywhere in Central Europe. Eighteen people have died from them.

Interesting words: state of emergency (dangerous situation when you must do different things than normally), beat (be better than).
