21st century Spice Girls – level 2

21st century Spice Girls – level 2

11-07-2016 15:00

The Spice Girls’ song “Wannabe” is 20 years old and now people gave it a 21st century feminist makeover. It became part of Project Everyone’s campaign to improve the lives of women and girls everywhere. It calls for an end to violence against girls, quality education for all and equal pay for equal work.

The video informs viewers and the UN General Assembly of what women really, really want. The original Spice Girls already support the project.

Difficult words: violence (cruelty, brutality), assembly (a meeting), support (help and like).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
