Big fire in Colorado - level 1

25-06-2012 22:00

Over two weeks and 100 square kilometres, Colorado’s High Park fire is not smaller.

Thousands of homes were evacuated and 200 hundred homes were destroyed near Fort Collins. The fire killed a 62-year-old woman.

Firefighters thought that they started to control the fire because low temperatures and light winds helped them close 60 percent of fire.

But the wind started to be bigger and the temperatures went up over the weekend. The fire is big again and can be bigger and bigger.

Interesting words: evacuate, destroy, firefighter.
