Big protests in Egypt - level 2

Big protests in Egypt - level 2

19-08-2013 06:00

Thousands of Morsi's supporters have been protesting in Cairo for the last six weeks. Riot police attacked them.

The police were hiding behind their cars and shooting at the protesters. The police used tear gas, too. Hundreds of protesters have been killed and more than a thousand injured.

Everything was filmed. The video is quite shocking. The leaders of other countries don't like the situation in Egypt. They are afraid that more people could be killed or that there could be a civil war in Egypt.

Difficult words: riot police (police which fight with protestors), tear gas (gas that hurts your eyes badly), civil war (war when people from the same country fight).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
