Boy plays football with no feet - level 3, A12
Like most boys his age, 11-year-old Gabriel Muniz from Rio de Janeiro wants to be a footballer when he grows up and he’s pretty good winning several medals as his school’s star sportsman.
But there is more to the story than meets the eye. Gabriel was born without any feet.
He wears prosthetics for his everyday life but when this young boy gets on the sports field, the gloves or the boots come off.
Such is his talent that he’s managed to impress Barcelona who invited him to travel to Spain and meet the club including his hero Lionel Messi.
Gabriel realizes his disability means he probably won’t have a make a professional team. So he is set about trying to make soccer a Paralympic sport, which means that one day he might just get the recognition he deserves.
Interesting words: meet the eye (is immediately visible), prosthetics (artificial body parts), have a make a professional team (become part of a professional team), soccer (football), might (could).
