Camels lived in Canada – level 2
We all know that camels live in deserts but that didn’t used to be true. Millions of years ago they also lived in Arctic forests. Canadian scientists found the bones of what they think was a giant camel that lived in northern Canada three and a half million years ago.
The giant camel could look like the modern camel. It didn’t have a problem with snow because it had really wide feet. Scientists think the giant camel disappeared during the last ice age as they looked for warmer places to live.
Interesting words: Arctic (land around the North Pole), giant (very big), disappear (stop existing).
