Comet comes to the sun - level 2
Scientists are getting ready for a comet. The comet is expected to pass just one million kilometers from the sun’s surface.
The comet is traveling at 234 miles per second (377 kilometers per second) and its temperature is about 2,700 degrees. It may not survive. If it survives, it will be visible from Earth in December. If the comet crumbles into many pieces, it will be interesting for the scientists who will be able to see inside the comet.
The comet was first spotted in September because it’s exceptionally bright.
Difficult words: crumble (break), spot (notice), exceptionally (extremely).
You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
