Dangerous building in India - level 2

Dangerous building in India - level 2

25-03-2014 07:00

A building in India collapsed. An amateur video captured the moment. It shows scenes of panic in Mumbai.

The building was declared unsafe seven years ago, but two families continued to live there. They knew that it could collapse at any moment, but they decided to stay there at their own risks

Several people were trapped under the pieces of the building. Six of them were rescued, but one person died.

Difficult words: collapse (fall down), declare (say something officially), at one’s own risk (to do something even though you know it is dangerous), trapped (unable to get out).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
