Dolphins in Japan - level 1
Japanese fishermen hunt dolphins. They make the dolphins go into a small area. This happens every year.
The fishermen hit the dolphins with boats. They fight with the dolphins. The fishermen choose some dolphins. The chosen dolphins are sold. Most of the dolphins are killed for meat.
When people hit a dolphin to kill it, it doesn’t die quickly. The dolphin dies for 20 to 30 minutes.
The fishermen say that the hunt is a tradition. They have done this for a very long time.
Difficult words: hunt (catch and kill), sell (give for money).
You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
