Driver made a mistake - level 2

Driver made a mistake - level 2

20-09-2013 06:00

Some time ago, a terrible train accident happened in Spain. There is some new information about it.

There is an audio recording of the phone call which was made right after the crash. It was made by the driver of the train.

Firstly, he admits the high speed. The speed should be 80 kilometres per hour but he went 190 kilometres per hour. However, he also says that he complained about the curve in the past. He told someone that the curve was dangerous and that something bad could happen.

This is new and important information for the investigation of this accident. Maybe, it wasn't only the driver's fault.

Difficult words: complain (say you don't like something), curve (when the road goes right or left), fault (mistake).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
