Elephant meets tourists – level 2

20-01-2015 15:00

Tourists at a national park in Thailand got a little bit too close to nature. One elephant rubbed itself against their cars and even tried to sit on one.

The elephant hurt nobody but it badly damaged one car. Most of the drivers just sat in their cars and waited for the elephant to stop.

Park officials say that there are around 300 wild elephants in the park at this time of year. Park officials imposed driving restrictions.

Difficult words: rub (to press), impose (to make a rule), restriction (a rule which limits what people can do).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.

It is a scary situation, isn't it?
