Elephant seal crossed a road – level 2

Elephant seal crossed a road – level 2

27-03-2013 06:00

A massive elephant seal stopped traffic in Brazil. The animal, which weighed more than half a ton, took a walk in the streets of a city. The 10-foot animal got out of the Atlantic and blocked traffic on the main street for more than an hour.

Police officers and firefighters poured water on the elephant seal to keep it wet. The seal used the crossing during its unexpected adventure. Shoppers and tourists took pictures and videos of it. Then it simply went back into the water.

Interesting words: pour (put water into or on something), unexpected (surprising).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
