International Women's Day – level 2

International Women's Day – level 2

11-03-2013 06:00

International Women's Day has been celebrated around the world. In India where several rape cases have been published in the news recently, over a hundred women marched in the capital, New Delhi. They asked the government to do more to protect them.

In South Africa, hundreds of drummers played on a busy Johannesburg street with the message that violence against women should stop.

Some women also prepared a song which asks for women's rights and equality with men.

Interesting words: rape (crime when you push somebody to have sex when they don’t want to), march (walk), violence (act when you hurt somebody).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
