Koala swims to people - level 2, A12
A group of canoeists was travelling along a small river in Australia when they were surprised by a koala which has swum up to their boats.
Koalas normally don’t swim but the friendly bear swam to the group who lifted him into the canoe.
The koala was trapped on a bank of the river and decided the canoe was his best way out of the bad situation.
He was later released in an area with lots of trees by the surprised canoeists.
Interesting words: trapped (caught), bank (one side of a river), released (freed).
