Learning how to swim - level 2
Did you know that otters have to be taught how to swim? Mom has to teach her babies how to swim in water. When they are 30 days old, otter babies are strong enough to begin their swimming lessons, but sometimes they’re not the most happy students.
Mom teaches each baby individually. She can concentrate only on one baby and one lesson. She teaches the babies in levels. She first teaches them to swim. When the baby is a good swimmer, mom teaches them to go underwater.
Then she teaches each baby how to dry and stay warm after swimming in the pool. When the lesson is finished, mom takes them back home and they sleep and relax. After short time, the babies are good swimmers like every other otter.
