Lego Death Star - level 3

29-02-2016 15:00

In a galaxy far, far away… Well, actually in Windsor Legoland resort, one of the biggest ever Lego Star Wars models has been constructed. Boasting 500,000 Lego bricks, the model recreates the Empire's ultimate super weapon: the Death Star.

Weighing in at a hefty 860 kilograms, the perfectly spherical model took 15 model-makers 3 months to build and will be the star of the new Lego Star Wars mini-land model display.

It took three days to install the huge 2.4-metre wide, 3-metre high creation and it's sure to attract Star Wars super fans in their droves.

The dramatic scene depicts the rebel alliance attack on the moon-sized space station in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Guests will be able to trigger sounds and light effects to bring the scene to life.

Looks like the force is well and truly with us!

Difficult words: boast (proudly having), ultimate (the best), hefty (large and heavy), spherical (like a sphere – a ball), huge (very big), drove (a large number of people), depict (to show), alliance (groups which fight together), trigger verb (to turn on)
