Man and robot - level 3
Olympic sprinter Adam Gemili had his first race of the season, but he was up against some very unusual opposition in the form of Brian the robot.
"What’s up, Brian? How's it going? Do you want to take me on?"
The challenge came about after the two disagreed on Twitter about who was the fastest runner. Although I'm sure Adam didn't expect his opponent to turn up on wheels and a track to match.
A disappointing result for Adam, but thankfully he won't be competing against Brian in next month's World Athletics Championships in Moscow.
Interesting words: be up against somebody (be confronted with somebody), What’s up? (informally hello), take somebody on (be an opponent for somebody), turn up (appear).
