Man can fly on 1st April - level 3, A12

01-04-2012 21:00

1st April is a very special day in some countries. It is not a holiday but many people celebrate this day by playing jokes on other people. This tradition is more than 600 years old. You can receive some emails or information on this day that is not true. So check if this information is really true. Don’t believe everything your friends tell you or send you. Don’t believe everything in the news.

On this special day, we present you a video with a flying man.

This is what the lady in the video says.

“Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a bloke (man) from Holland. Meet Jarno Smeets, the flying Dutchman. This thrill seeking (looking for fun) mechanical engineer is an all-round (very busy) action man fascinated by new technology and aerodynamics. He hatched (prepared) a crazy plan as he calls (names) it to build his own wings and learn to fly. It was a boyhood dream he shared with his grandfather and the Bird Man’s wings are based on Leonardo da Vinci’s famous Vitruvian Man. Time for take-off (time for going up), Jarno. Just look at him go.”
