Man falls 200 metres into a forest - level 3, A12
A stunt that was arguably too dangerous to begin with and very nearly cost a man his life.
Acrobat Aisikaier suffered just minor injuries after falling some 200 metres into a forest in this ill-fated tightrope walk over a gorge in China’s Hunan Province.
Walking blindfolded and backwards for over 50 minutes and 700 metres, many would argue he should have quit sooner after this near miss.
The stuntman picked himself up but complained of feeling dizzy.
Nevertheless, he continued his walk until just 40 metres from the finish disaster struck.
Incredibly, the forest canopy beneath broke his fall and he was able to walk away almost unscathed.
Interesting words: stunt (dangerous action for fun), to begin with (from the beginning), ill-fated (unlucky), tightrope (strong rope in a circus), gorge (very deep valley), blindfolded (with eyes covered), quit (give up), nevertheless (but), stuck (hit), canopy (top of forest trees), beneath (under), unscathed (not injured).
