Man was pulled behind a car – level 2

05-03-2013 14:00

In Daveyton, east of Johannesburg, police tried to arrest a Mozambiquean taxi driver for stopping on the wrong side of the road. The male driver started to fight the officers but was overpowered and tied to a police car. The police started to drive the car when the man was tied to it.

That 27-year-old man later died at the police station. The policemen didn’t report that the man was pulled behind the police car. They say he became aggressive and took one of their handguns.

Interesting words: overpower (take control of somebody because you are stronger), tie (fasten things together).
