Money underground - level 2

Money underground - level 2

06-03-2014 07:00

A couple in California found treasure while walking their dog. They found 1,400 gold coins which were worth $10 million.

Sometimes people find coins that are worth thousands of dollars, but these finders were very lucky when they spotted an old metal can on their land. They dug it out and discovered that it was full of 19th century gold coins. They searched around and found more. Who originally buried the $20 coins, and why, is still a mystery.

Most of the coins will be sold online.

Difficult words: treasure (valuable and expensive things), finder (person who finds something), spot (see), bury (to put something under the ground).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
