Mosaic in Greece - level 1

Mosaic in Greece - level 1

26-03-2014 07:00

Students from Athens come together. They want to set a Guinness World Record. They create a big mosaic. The mosaic looks like an owl. An owl is the symbol of Athens.

There are 18,000 people at the event. It takes them 9 hours to finish the mosaic. They use 52,000 small pieces of paper. The owl is made of these little pieces of paper.

We don’t know if the mosaic will set a new record. We must wait. World record officials will tell us.

Difficult words: mosaic (big picture made of little pieces), event (situation when there’re a lot of people and they do something), official (boss).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
