Mosaic in Greece - level 2

Mosaic in Greece - level 2

26-03-2014 07:00

Student from all across Athens came together to set a Guinness World Record. They created a 512 square metre mosaic which looks like an owl. An owl is the symbol of the city.

More than 18,000 people spent 9 hours folding 52,000 small pieces of paper into origami flowers. The flowers were then used to create the owl. Making the mosaic was not difficult, but coordinating everything was very tiring.

It’s not sure if the mosaic will set a new record. Hopefully, the world record officials will tell us soon.

Difficult words: fold (bend), coordinate (organise), tiring (to make you tired and to take a lot of time).
