North Korea has a celebration - level 2
North Korea's Mass Games might be strange but they are definitely impressive. There are hundreds of thousands of performers and dancers.
The games first began in 2002 and have continued every year since. They were cancelled only in 2006 because of serious flooding.
The biggest show in the world serves a simple purpose. It celebrates North Korea's leaders and the end of the Korean War. Some battles were even re-enacted.
Difficult words: flooding (big water), purpose (reason), re-enact (show something important from the past by acting).
You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
