Old animal goes to Japan - level 2
A mammoth carcass which is 39,000 years old was moved to Japan. The public can now see it for the first time since it was found in Russia three years ago.
Apart from being shown to the public, the carcass will be studied by scientists. It is in a very good condition and it can answer many questions. Scientists want to know the reason of the animals' extinction. It could be a good lesson for us humans. We might be in danger too.
There are some questions about the body itself. Its organs are missing. We don't know who removed to them.
Interesting words: carcass (body of a dead animal), apart from (as well as), extinction (when all animals of one kind die).
You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
