Old bomb in Japan - level 2

Old bomb in Japan - level 2

11-06-2013 14:00

A bomb from World War Two which had not exploded was found next to a busy train station in Japan.

The bomb was 40 centimetres long. It was probably an anti-aircraft bomb. Bomb experts put bags with sand around it and then they detonated the bomb. The nearby buildings including the train station and the shopping centre were evacuated. The explosion could be heard across the city.

Interesting words: aircraft (plane), detonate (make explode), evacuate (send people away).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
