People broke a bridge - level 2

People broke a bridge - level 2

27-05-2013 14:00

A 3.5-kilometre long Chinese bridge was demolished. It was the longest bridge ever demolished in China. It was a record.

However, the demolition wasn't easy because of the close electricity and gas lines and the close residential buildings. The workers had to follow strict rules too. Water bags were placed along the bridge to reduce the dust caused by the explosion.

Despite all of the mentioned problems, the demolition was a success.

Interesting words: demolish (destroy completely), residential (connected with houses).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
