People died during a festival in India – level 2
Kumph Mela is the world’s largest religious festival. It is usually a time of happiness. But the festival became a tragedy on Sunday when at least 30 people were killed.
Too many people were on a railway station footbridge and some of it collapsed. People started to panic and run. They started to walk on other people and those people were killed.
This festival only happens once every 12 years. Tens of millions of people from India come to the small town to celebrate the festival.
Interesting words: at least (minimally), footbridge (bridge for people who are walking).
