People saw a big white whale – level 3, A12

An albino humpback whale has been seen off the coast of Australia near the Gold Coast.

The rare albino whale named Migaloo, an Aboriginal name for “White Fella”, is on its annual migration from north Queensland to the Antarctic.

It’s reported, Migaloo was first spotted in Australia waters back in 1991 and it’s part of the east Australian humpback population which numbers up to 17 000.
