Protest in Argentina - level 2

Protest in Argentina - level 2

02-09-2013 14:00

The Argentine government is thinking about an important deal and they may say "yes" to it.

If that happens, another big part of industry there will get under control of the USA. A lot of people there don't want that to happen. They are also worried about possible pollution. People, who are against the deal, protested.

Around 5000 people protested in Argentina's western province. They threw stones and fire bombs. Police shot rubber bullets and tear gas at the people as they wanted to stop the protest.

Difficult words: pollution (when the nature is not healthy), rubber bullets (thing that flies fast from a gun and can hurt you but it cannot kill you), tear gas (gas that hurts your eyes).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
