Sandwich hit a Prime Minister - level 3

Sandwich hit a Prime Minister - level 3

06-06-2013 14:00

The Australian Prime Minister has been hit by yet another sandwich, this time a salami one.

While visiting Lyneham High School in Canberra, Julia Gillard didn't quite receive the welcome she was hoping for when on arrival a student threw a sandwich at her, narrowly missing her head but hitting her arm.

The PM laughed it off though, "I think he must’ve thought I was hungry."

Yes, that's exactly what she must have thought. The school says they are speaking to the boy involved.

This is the second time this month a sandwich has been thrown at the Prime Minister. The first was a Vegemite one during a school visit in Queensland. We wonder if or what the next flavour will be.

Interesting words: laugh off (pretend that something is less serious than it really is), Vegemite (soft dark salty spread which people put on bread).
