Syrian children - level 2

Syrian children - level 2

04-12-2013 14:00

A group of children talked about their experiences in the conflict in Syria when a large explosion knocked them to the ground. The moment was captured on camera.

The children crawled away and looked for cover after the explosion. The bomb exploded very close to them but the children survived. They described the near miss later in the video. One boy said that it felt like diving into a swimming pool.

It is estimated that over 7,000 children have been killed during the Syrian conflict.

Difficult words: crawl (move on your hands and knees), near miss (narrowly avoided accident), estimate (think).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
