Tsai Ing-wen is the president of Taiwan. She is the first female president of Taiwan. She is the leader of the Democratic Progressive Party.

She is in a difficult situation. She must listen to China, the USA, and the people of Taiwan. Tsai Ing-wen wants to protect Taiwan’s identity. She wants Taiwan to be independent.

Difficult words: progressive (modern), party (political group), independent (free from outside control).
