16-11-2011 23:00

Hawaii is a beautiful place. You can find some of the biggest waves in the world there. The best surfers in the world try to surf these waves and they try to break world records. Many of the best world surfers also live here because they can have a lot of practice on big waves every day.

One of them, Garrett McNamara just broke the world record for the largest wave surfed by a man or woman. But he didn’t break this record in Hawaii. It was in Portugal and the wave was 30 metres high. The last record was 25 metres in 2008. Garrett McNamara is a man from Hawaii and a professional surfer.

You can see him and this amazing wave in the video.
