This man was lucky - level 1, A12
This man was very lucky. Manrico Giampedroni worked as a waiter on the Italian ship Costa Concordia. When the ship started to have problems, he fell down 6 metres into the restaurant. Half of the restaurant was already under water.
He broke his leg twice. Nobody helped him. Water went up and up. He sat on one table and he waited. He was hungry. He saw a sandwich in the water. He ate it.
The ship went down on Friday and he was there all night, then the next day and the next night. He saw ships from the window, but nobody saw him. He hit the walls, but nobody heard him. He was cold. It was a horrible situation.
After 36 hours, people saw him. He was the last man who went from the ship.
