Two girls and cocaine in Peru - level 2
Two British girls were caught by police in Peru. One was twenty years old and the second one was only nineteen.
They were getting ready for their flight from Lima to Madrid when police found 25 pounds (11.3 kilograms) of cocaine in their luggage. The drugs were in small food parcels. The cocaine in them is worth £1.5 million.
One of the girls said that someone forced her to take the parcels. She didn't know that they contained drugs. However, if this isn't true and the girls are guilty, they may spend 25 years of their lives in prison.
Difficult words: parcel (package), force (make someone do something), contain (have inside), guilty (when you are responsible for some crime, you are guilty).
You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
