Two shark attacks - level 2

Two shark attacks - level 2

14-10-2013 06:00

An Australian shellfish diver was bitten by a great white shark. He had to have surgery because his head, back and shoulder were injured.

Shark attacks are very rare so it must come as a surprise that this was the second time the man was attacked by a shark. The first attack happened in 2004.

Officials decided to act and gave fishermen orders. If a big shark is caught, it may be killed. The man's condition is serious but it should not get worse.

Difficult words: shellfish diver (man who catches animals which live in water and have a shell), surgery (operation), officials (local government).
