Very old heads in London - level 2

Very old heads in London - level 2

10-10-2013 14:00

Construction workers were building a tunnel in London when they found something unexpected–20 Roman skulls.

People weren't sure of the skulls' origin at first, but the latest information say that these skulls are from a Roman cemetery. A river probably carried the skulls away from the cemetery to their current location.

The Museum of London Archaeology is now examining the skulls. The museum would like to know more about the age, sex and diet of these people of the past.

Difficult words: unexpected (surprising), skull (bones of head), cemetery (area with dead people's bodies).
