Woman jumps off a bridge - level 3
A wild police chase through the streets of Oregon took an unexpected turn when the suspect leapt off a bridge into a freezing cold river.
“Don’t do it!”
The woman, 26-year-old Rebecca Humphries, chose a very dangerous way to avoid police after leading them on a high speed car chase in a stolen vehicle. The chase lasted several miles and reached speeds of up to 60 miles per hour (97 km/h).
Just moments after jumping into the freezing Sandy River, the 26-year-old was pulled out and taken to hospital with minor injuries.
“She just jumped into the river. Get river patrol started this way.”
“Keep your hands up right there. Don’t move. Don’t move!”
Difficult words: chase (following someone quickly to catch them), leap (jump), minor (small), patrol (search or people who search).
