Young polar bear in New York – level 2

08-03-2013 06:00

A three-month-old polar bear called Luna appeared at the Buffalo Zoo in New York for the first time.

She was given the name Luna because she was born during a full moon. There is a naming competition at the zoo where people can suggest her formal name. The bear is still too small and you cannot see it at the zoo. That's why the president of the zoo Donna Fernandes decided to stream live video of Luna for three hours every day.

There is only one other zoo in North America where a polar bear was born in the last twelve months.

Interesting words: full moon (time when you can see the whole moon well), stream (play on the internet).

You can watch the video in the Level 3 section.
