A robot dog on Mount Etna – level 1
09-02-2026 15:00
Scientists use a robot dog on a volcano in Italy. The robot helps find gas from the ground. This gas can show when the volcano may change. People do not need to walk in danger. This work helps keep them safe.
The robot has eyes and tools to smell gas. It can walk on rock, sand, and hills. Smart computers help the robot move and not fall.
The robot works alone most of the time and finds many gas spots. The team wants it to walk farther and help more in the future. This robot helps science and saves lives.
Difficult words: volcano (a mountain which can send out fire, ash, or gas), danger (a situation when people can be hurt), spot (a place or small area).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
How do smart computers help the robot traverse rock, sand, and hills without falling?
