A young man makes Singapore travel easier – level 3

24-02-2026 15:00

Singapore has a very good public transport system, but one advocate says even the best systems have blind spots.

To help people find their way, he has been putting up his own signs. The signs look official, but they are done by Veric, a young man who calls himself a gorilla wayfinder. He started by installing signs at a university after missing buses late at night. He then expanded to public spaces and has completed at least ten projects. Veric studies transit maps and designs signs that show complete bus routes and transfer points. He often works at night to avoid public attention.

The man’s goal is to make travel easier and clearer for commuters. He says a good design is simple and easy to use, so people don’t have to think about it. Before this, he complained online about poor signage, but now he takes action and hopes his work inspires others to improve their community.

Difficult words: advocate (someone who supports an idea), blind spot (a place you cannot see or notice easily), attention (the act of watching or focusing on something), signage (signs in an area that give information or directions).

You can watch the video news lower on this page.

What features does Veric include on his signs to help commuters navigate the bus system?
