German AI robots – level 3
29-01-2025 07:00
Neura Robotics, a German company founded by David Reger, is at the forefront of robotics and AI technology.
Their flagship product, the 4NE-1 humanoid robot, is designed for domestic and industrial tasks, and it is equipped with advanced AI, sensors, and the ability to mimic human touch. Reger, a former social worker with no formal engineering background, built the company with help from Swiss experts, Chinese funding, and later 100 million euros from Western investors. Neura relocated to Stuttgart, leveraging Germany’s strong mechanical engineering tradition.
The company’s innovations include cost-effective welding robots and proprietary sensors that distinguish humans from machines. Neura employs 260 people from 35 nations and receives 2,500 job applications monthly. The company’s vision includes manufacturing 5 million robots by 2030, aiming to make robotics Germany’s leading industry, surpassing car manufacturing. Neura expects 50 million euros in sales this year, targeting India and other global markets.
Difficult words: forefront (the leading or most important position or place), leverage (to use to maximum advantage), proprietary (unique and owned by the company).
