Indian journalists have problems – level 2
28-10-2025 07:00
Indian news channels used to be trusted and respected, but today many people see them as political tools.
In Nepal and Bangladesh, people accuse Indian reporters of showing only the Indian government’s view. Critics say the news focuses on drama, religion, and politics, not on truth. This makes many people in nearby countries dislike India’s media.
Inside India, journalists have many problems. Some lose jobs or face police because they criticize leaders. Many TV stations belong to business people who support the government, so reporters cannot work freely. Because of this, Indian news looks more like noisy shows than real information.
Difficult words: trusted (someone or something you believe is honest and reliable), accuse (to say someone did something wrong), criticize (to say that something is bad).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
Why do critics in Nepal and Bangladesh accuse Indian reporters of bias, and what obstacles do journalists face inside India when they criticize government leaders?
