The bears escape – level 2

04-07-2025 07:00

Two brown bears escaped from their cage at Wildwood Devon in the UK.

The bears, Mish and Lucy, are five years old. After escaping, they found the food store and ate a week’s worth of honey. The park said no people were in danger. Visitors stayed in a safe building. Park staff watched the bears using cameras and followed them on the ground. Mish went back to his cage on his own. Lucy came back when the workers rang a bell and gave her her favorite food. Both bears then fell asleep. Police came to the park as part of safety rules.

The park says the cage is now safe. Now, the park is checking how the bears got out. Mish and Lucy were saved in Albania in 2019.

Difficult words: escape (to get out from a place), cage (a space with bars to keep animals in), safety rules (things to do to stay safe).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What did the workers do to bring Lucy back to her cage?
