Scientists move the Doomsday Clock very close to midnight. The clock shows eighty-five seconds to midnight. This means that the world is not safe at all. Scientists feel worried about nuclear weapons, war, climate problems, and new technology.

The United States, Russia, and China act in strong and risky ways. Experts worry about war in Ukraine and the Middle East. Countries do not work well together. Old rules about nuclear weapons do not help anymore.

Scientists ask leaders to do something now. They want peace, clear rules, and honest talk. Without help, danger grows for everyone.

Difficult words: doomsday (a time close to the end of the world), act (to do something, not only talk), peace (life without war).
