Bulgarian president ends – level 1

23-01-2026 15:00

Rumen Radev leaves his job as president of Bulgaria. He wants to start a new party and become prime minister. He says that bad leaders hurt the country. Bulgaria has many elections because politicians do not work well together.

Many people in Bulgaria feel unhappy. They stop voting because they do not believe in leaders anymore. There are big protests in the streets. Many people do not have money. Even after Bulgaria starts using the Euro.

Radev wants a safe country. He wants people to vote on the euro, but the parliament says no. After he leaves, the vice president takes his place.

Difficult words: party (a political group with similar ideas), prime minister (the boss of a government), elections (when people vote to choose leaders).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

Why do many people in Bulgaria stop voting?
