A new world record for the largest polar bear dip was set in the Czech Republic on March 1, 2025. A total of 2,461 swimmers braved the icy waters of Most Lake to beat the previous record of 1,799 participants, set in Poland in 2015.

According to Guinness World Records, participants must wear bathing suits, submerge at least to their waists, and remain in the water for at least one minute. Additionally, the water temperature must be below 10°C. On the day of the event, the temperature was a freezing 3.5°C. This extreme winter tradition attracted global attention as people celebrated the achievement and the courage of those involved. The participants were cold and wet but excited to be part of history.

Events like this show how people enjoy testing their limits and coming together for unique challenges. Given the success of this event, it is likely that other countries will attempt to break the record in the future.
