New York’s oldest ice cream shop – level 2
29-07-2025 07:00
Eddie’s Sweet Shop is an old ice cream shop in Forest Hills, New York. It is 100 years old this year. Many people love to visit because it reminds them of the past.
The shop still uses an 80-year-old fridge and makes fresh whipped cream. Some people visit the place with their children because they came there when they were young.
The shop sells many ice cream flavors like vanilla, chocolate, coconut, and rum raisin. You can add tasty toppings like caramel, butterscotch, or hot fudge. The menu also has sweet syrups like cherry and lime.
The ice cream is fresh and homemade. It costs more, and you can only pay with cash. But most people say it is a special place and worth a visit.
Difficult words: flavor (the taste of food), topping (something you add on top of food), worth (when it is a good idea to spend money or time on something).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
How old is the fridge the shop still uses?
