Heineken sells less beer – level 3

27-10-2025 15:00

Heineken, the world’s second-largest brewer, warned that its beer sales will drop in 2025 due to global economic problems.

The company lowered its previous forecast again, saying that demand remains weak, especially in Latin America and Europe. CEO Dolf van den Brink said that the company expects demand to improve once economic conditions stabilize. Analysts noted that although results were not strong, they were slightly better than expected. Heineken’s shares rose 1% after the announcement.

Despite facing challenges such as lower beer consumption, competition from alcohol alternatives, and growing health awareness, Heineken reported market share gains in Brazil, Mexico, and Vietnam. The company’s revenue fell 0.3% in the third quarter, but that was still above expectations. Overall, the results show that while Heineken continues to struggle with slow sales, investors remain cautiously optimistic about future recovery.

Difficult words: revenue (money a company gets from selling things or services), cautiously (carefully), recovery (a return to a better or stronger situation).
